It's not just Indian politicians who have lavish weddings for their progeny. When Hillary and Bill Clinton's daughter Chelsea exchanges 'I dos' with Marc Mezvinsky, a childhood friend, this Saturday, the tab will add up to $5 million (23 crore). At the Clinton-Mezvinsky wedding, the air-conditioned tents will cost $600,000, the security $200,000, and the invitation cards, which merely state that the nuptials will be conducted at the upper-crust town of Rhinebeck in New York State, are said to have come for $150 a piece. At the 2004 wedding of Lakshmi Mittal's daughter, 1,000 high- profile guests from across the world were entertained at the Palace of Versailles in Paris. Pop star Kylie Minogue and Shah Rukh Khan performed at the wedding. The wedding costed $ 55 Million (253 crore).

At the wedding of New York-based hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal's son in Udaipur in 2006, the guest list was topped by the good friend of the family, Bill Clinton, and Naomi Campbell. The wedding costed $ 20 Million (92 crore)

There was no end to the glamour and grandeur in the wedding ceremony of Arun Nayar and Elizabeth Hurley in 2007. The festivity lasted for eight days across two continents - Europe and Asia.
