It further sports Wi-Fi connectivity, USB port, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, millions of books and thousands of apps and games. The Kindle Fire is currently priced at $199.
Asus Padfone
The highly anticipated Asus Padfone combines both smartphone and tablet within a device. A first of its kind innovation, the Padfone allows you to switch seamlessly between pad and phone for an amazing user experience. Sporting a 10.9-cm capacitive multi-touch display screen, the Asus Padfone comes equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with digital zoom, Android OS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB 2.0. The price of this upcoming device has not been officially confirmed yet.
Sony S1
The much awaited Sony S1 media tablet comes integrated with Qriocity-focused 23.8-cm capacitive multi-touch display screen with both front- and rear-facing cameras. Carved in a curved wrap design, the S1 boasts of a Tegra 2 SoC and customised 'Quick and Smooth' touch panel UI with 'Swift' Web browser. Powered with Android 3.1 OS, the S1 features dual core 1000 MHZ, NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 5000 mAh battery, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB 2.0. The device is expected to cost around $599, although it has not been officially revealed as of now.
Toshiba Thrive
Toshiba Thrive has been in the news recently for all the good reasons. The device comes preloaded with advanced Android 3.1 OS, big 25.6 cms multi-touch screen display with Adaptive Display Technology, NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core mobile processor. It packs a 5 megapixels rear camera camera with autofocus and a 2 megapixels front-facing webcam. The other key features of the Thrive include 16 GB internal memory, USB, HDMI ports, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity supporting Adobe Flash. Offered in 8GB, 16GB and 32 GB variants, the Toshiba Thrive is priced at $429.99.
LG Optimus Pad
Announced earlier, the LG Optimus Pad is still awaiting its arrival in India. The device has earned rave reviews already and it is all set to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom and Apple iPad in India. It sports a 22.6-cm multi-touch LCD capacitive touchscreen, a 5-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. Powered by Android Honeycomb 3.0 OS, the Optimus Pad packs dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth and 32 GB internal storage.
Huawei Mediapad
Huawei Mediapad is another upcoming sleek tablet that comes equipped with a 17.8-cm capacitive multi-touch display screen, Android 3.2 OS and a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and digital zoom. Powered by 1.2 Ghz dual core Snapdragon processor, the device packs a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. The Mediapad further features 3G, Wi-Fi, HDMI port, music player and video player. It packs 4GB internal memory and expandable memory up to 32GB with microSD card slot.
ZTE Light
ZTE Light is another upcoming Android device which comes integrated with a 17.8-cm TFT touchscreen display. As the name suggests, it's a lightweight device that packs 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM on board. It is Wi-Fi and 3G enabled. The other features of the Light tablet include a 3-megapixel camera, music and video player, built-in GPS, Bluetooth, external SD Slot with up to 32GB of external memory, a 3.5-mm stereo headset and up to 10 hours of working battery time.
