The Maruti A-Star Replacement - The A-Wind Concept

Suzuki has unveiled the much awaited Maruti Suzuki A-star replacement , the A-Wind concept at the 2013 Thailand International Motor-show . From the look's of it ,the Car is is beautifully sculptured both at the exterior and the interior. . Though it replaces A-Star in India , Globally it would sell under the Alto tag. The car is expected to be unveiled in the 2014 Indian AutoShow.

The A-wind is powered by a 996cc petrol engine and is coupled with a CVT gearbox . The hatchback is 3600mm long , 1600mm wide and 1540mm high and has a 2425mm Wheel base .When launched in India , the A:Wind concept will be powered by the 1.0 Litre K-series engine and will have a 5-speed manual and 4 speed automatic transmission option's.The 2 option's increase's the overall acceptance of the car .

EXTERIORS

As said earlier, the car is really beautifully sculptured. The distinct creases and lines which runs through out the side, give's the car a really aggressive but user friendly feel . From outside , the car does seem really compact .Pull handle's have been added to the doors, to give a premium feel .From the side's however , the biggest eye catcher's are the Alloy's. The concept uses 185/55 R16 tires , with a really funky inward curling alloys . Two color's have been showcased on the concepts , energy yellow and panoramic blue .

On the front runs a twin ,split chrome grilles , which protrudes in to the projector headlamp's. However' whether the design would be available in the production model is yet to be seen. The LED turn indicators completes the beautiful front portion of the A:Wind. The Rear portion has a minimalistic touch to it . The rear windscreen is really wide and should provide a great view .The rear compliments nicely with the overall design of the car.
The Interiors of the A:Wind gets a dual tone color scheme . Most of the design features have been lifted straight out of its elder siblings ,the Swift and the Ritz . The A:Wind is stated to be much more spacious than the A-Star , signifying that the 'crammed rear' problem is a thing of the past. Again the Interior's seem's to compliment the exterior really beautifully.VERDICT

The concept sure looks beautiful and if the actual production car is anything like the concept , we have good new's for Maruti Suzuki . The car is worth the wait . It is expected to be showcased at the 2014 Indian Autoshow 2014 . Initially it will be launched in Thailand in 2014. Indian launch is expected to be 1-2 month after that.
