Developed by Rocksteady Studios, Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City, the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.
Features :

  • Play as Catwoman – Catwoman is a fully playable character in Batman: Arkham City who has her own storyline in the main game which is seamlessly interwoven with Batman’s story arc. Her navigation skills, combat moves and gadgetry have been specifically designed to deliver a fully featured and unique experience.
  • Advanced FreeFlow Combat – Batman faces highly coordinated, simultaneous attacks from every direction as Arkham’s gangs bring heavy weapons and all-new AI to the fight, but Batman steps it up with twice the number of combat animations and double the range of attacks, counters and takedowns.
  • New Gadgets – Batman has access to new gadgets such as the Cryptographic Sequencer V2 and Smoke Pellets, as well as new functionality for existing gadgets that expand the range of Batman’s abilities without adding extra weight to his Utility Belt.
  • New Story – Five-time Emmy-Award-winner Paul Dini returns to pen a brand-new story for Batman: Arkham City, taking gamers deep inside the diseased heart of Gotham.
  • Arkham Has Moved – Following the closure of Arkham Asylum and Blackgate prison, Gotham’s new mayor, Quincy Sharp ordered the relocation of all inmates to Arkham City – a sprawling new super-prison five times bigger than Arkham Island, enclosing a wide variety of industrial districts, iconic locations and Gotham landmarks.

2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale

Ferrari;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

We’re of the mind that all Ferraris are speciale. Yes, even the California. We take this observation to be self-evident and universal, a fact of life that even Lamborghini owners, Red Bull Racing fans, and Prius drivers accept and appreciate. But spend a meaningful amount of time in the industrial burg of Maranello, and you’ll come to the disturbing realization that its denizens are cool toward Ferrari’s red-hot Italian sports cars. Pedestrians stare straight ahead as a barely disguised LaFerrari trundles past. At the hallowed Fiorano test track, an illuminated “Gas Off” sign orders us to lift on the straight because a Ferrari at full bore is too loud for the neighbors to bear.

Those who breathe the same air as flat-plane V-8s and fall asleep to the sweet songs of V-12s have been desensitized. To these cynics, Ferrari’s new 458 Speciale is merely a louder and quicker take on the 458 Italia that has been terrorizing this town for half a decade. Around Maranello, the 458 Speciale is as spine tingling as an F-150 is in Dearborn. The

Too bad, because the 458 Speciale is yet another Italian masterpiece, one loaded with improvements that you wouldn’t have thought possible or necessary if you’ve driven the 458 Italia. The Speciale shifts faster, turns in quicker, and stops shorter. Thanks to an additional 35 horsepower and 200 fewer pounds, it is swifter than the car on which it’s based, in a straight line and around a track. Best of all, Ferrari has improved on the 458’s sublime chassis with a fresh dose of clever technology and engineering. This car amplifies your skills, strokes your ego, and stimulates your pleasure center, all while possessing limits high enough to humble any driver.

The Speciale’s secret sauce is a piece of software: side-slip control, an algorithm developed in tandem with the LaFerrari to determine the car’s slip angle in real time, set a target slip angle based on your driving style, and adjust the agility or stability accordingly. SSC alters the Speciale’s temperament by way of the electronically controlled rear differential (E-Diff) and traction control (F1-Trac). The computers reduce the differential locking torque during understeer to liven up the handling. On oversteer, the diff unlocks and F1-Trac cuts engine power to keep the rear end from overtaking the front. The beauty of the program is that it’s working even when you’re not exploring the extremes of those scenarios—plowing toward the outside of the corner or wildly drifting around a bend. SSC boasts the nuance and finesse to adjust your path when you enter a corner at a neutral tack and below the limit of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber. As we feel our way around Fiorano in a three-lap tease, the 458 Speciale gracefully rotates even when we’re well off the pros’ pace. This car is much more than ones and zeros, though. The Speciale cranks up the crazy with a 4.5-liter V-8 that now makes 597 horsepower at its 9000-rpm peak. (The regular car packs 562 horsepower; both cars make the same 398 lb-ft of torque.) The increased power is made possible by a sky-high 14.0:1 compression ratio, revised combustion chambers, new pistons, shorter intake runners, reshaped intake ports, and higher lift on the exhaust and intake valves, along with a new carbon-fiber manifold and airbox.

Pinning the throttle brings sensory overload akin to that of a Vegas gaming floor. Five LEDs at the top of the steering wheel flick to life as you near redline, the engine’s wail drowns out the world around you, and the concept of time disappears. Ferrari quotes shift times so quick we find them hard to believe, and yet watching the tach, listening to the revs drop, and feeling the subtle push of the seven-speed dual-clutch swapping cogs leaves little room for insincerity. Helped by a shorter final-drive ratio, the Speciale should easily crack three seconds on the run from 0 to 60 mph and post a sub-11-second quarter-mile timeo make a car this stiff feel so unfazed by such bad roads qualifies as a miracle in our religion. Always obeying minute corrections, this 458 is as confident on the street as it is on the track.

The cabin drives home the car’s hard-core intentions with yards of faux suede (roughly half the weight of leather), carbon-fiber door panels, exposed bolt heads, and—as another nod to the LaFerrari—pushbutton transmission controls that are now mounted on a carbon-fiber phalange jutting out of the center tunnel. There’s an optional “advanced telemetry system” that records to a USB stick or passes information to an iPad app for a co-driver to analyze in real time. Our test car was equipped with four-point harnesses, optional in Europe but verboten in America. Just as well, because the webbing chafes at your shoulders and being strapped down means a tollbooth or pretty much anything in the passenger seat is out of reach.

2014 SRT Viper TA

2014 SRT Viper TA

Le Mans Viper driver Tommy Kendall summed up the SRT Viper TA perfectly in two sentences: “The best thing about this car is that it will do exactly what you tell it to do. And the worst thing about this car is that it will do exactly what you tell it.” He’s not kidding. Turn it too quickly, or get too deep into the 8.4-liter V-10 in the middle of a corner—in just about any gear—and the rear end will break loose, putting up a serious fight against the driver’s control of the beast. This track-focused model is obedient, but it demands deference. It’s the automotive equivalent of a circus tiger; one wrong move and you’re going to be in a world of hurt.

A TA—it stands for “Track Attack,” so you can get your mind out of the gutter—starts life as a base Viper and gets a host of alterations made with a single focus: lowering lap times. These include Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, two small carbon-fiber splitters with a replaceable wear strip, new damper tuning, 20-percent-stiffer springs, a 35-percent-stiffer front anti-roll bar, a 31-percent-stiffer rear anti-roll bar, a high camber alignment, reworked brake rotors and pads, and a carbon-fiber engine-bay brace and rear spoiler. Orange stitching on the cloth interior doesn’t make you any faster; it just feels that way. The engine, the gearbox, and the shifter are the same as those found in base cars.BYOTA

In the pits, we overheard Kendall’s co-driver, fellow American Jonathan Bomarito, express his respect for the 640-hp road car, saying he wished their GTS-R racer pulled as hard. He wasn’t talking about basic acceleration characteristics but rather the top end on a straight. We estimate this model should post the same benchmark acceleration numbers as those of the non-TA car. The only new Viper we’ve tested—a GTS model for a comparison test—ran to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and covered the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds at 126 mph.

SRT is building only 159 examples of this Viper variant: 93 will be TA-exclusive orange, 33 will be white, and 33 will be black. But don’t fret if you can’t find a factory-fresh example or you want similar performance in a different color. All the parts are available over the Mopar counter, so any Viper could be retrofitted to keep up with a TA on the track. You’ll only miss out on the orange paint and the number plate on the dash signifying the limited run. In place of the latter, we suggest owners order their own custom plate engraved with that quote from Mr. Kendall—they’ll want to remember to pay their car some respect.

Top 10 World Records Made Possible By Tragedy and Disaster

10. Longest Survival with an External Heart

Christopher Wall was born in 1975 with a very rare birth defect called ectopia cordis, which causes the fetus’s heart to form outside the chest cavity while in utero. The condition has a very high fatality rate, with most patients not living longer than 48 hours. After his birth, doctors couldn’t position his heart back inside the chest cavity, so they stretched his skin to cover it instead. During the next few months, Christopher surprised everyone with his will to stay alive. During the first 15 months of his life, he underwent 15 surgeries to insert his heart back into his chest. Against all odds, the surgeries were a success, making him the longest-surviving victim of his condition.

9. Surviving the Fastest Car Crash in History

Donald Campbell was a career record breaker and adrenaline junkie. He broke 8 world records for speed on water, as well as on land. In September 1960, he was in his legendary car, Bluebird, trying to set a new land speed record. During this epic event, while travelling at 360 MPH, he lost control of the car, which flipped over and crashed. At 360 MPH, mind you. Luckily, because he was securely strapped into the cockpit, his injuries consisted only of cuts, bruises and a hairline skull fracture that was described as “not serious,” and he was able to return home after only two weeks in the hospital.

8. Living the Longest with a Bullet in the Head

William Lawlis Pace was only 8 years old in 1917, when his brother accidentally shot him in the head with their father’s .22. The injury left him blind in one eye and deaf in his one ear. According to his son, doctors never wanted to operate, fearing that he wouldn’t survive the surgery. Carrying the bullet in his skull for 94 years, William still led a very normal life. He played sports at school, married, and had children. After he retired, he even traveled the world. People who sustain these types of head-trauma normally get life-threatening seizures or post-traumatic epilepsy during later life, but William was lucky enough to escape them.

7. Most Burns Suffered by a Survivor

Tony Yarijanian, an Armenian immigrant, owned several businesses in Los Angeles. Arriving at his tanning salon to do some cleaning one Sunday morning in February 2004, he didn’t realize the liquid he saw everywhere came from a gas leak. Switching on a dryer, he triggered a massive explosion which left over 90% of his body covered in 3rd degree burns. He also sustained damage to his lungs due to smoke inhalation, and his chance for survival was next-to-none. Tony was in a coma for several months, during which time he had several blood transfusions and surgeries

6. Longest Time Spent in a Coma

Edwarda O’Bara was a diabetic teenager who fell deathly ill in 1970. She slipped into a diabetic coma and never woke up. Her mother and sister stayed by her side always, caring for her as best they could. Edwarda even became a celebrity, as thousands would flock to her door every year to bring gifts and pay their respects to this long-lasting coma survivor. Many believed she had holy powers, thanks to some claims that cancer patients would walk in, see her, and suddenly be cancer-free.

However, that tale of survival ended on November 21, 2012, when Edwarda passed away at age 59, 42 years after she lost consciousness. It is the longest time anybody has ever spent in a coma.

5. Owner of the World’s Longest Tapeworm

People normally pick up tapeworm eggs when they eat or drink contaminated food and water. They also flourish in sand or soil, and can easily be ingested if a person forgets to wash their hands after a gardening session. Tapeworms usually only grow up to 15 feet in length, although they can fill the whole intestine if they aren’t discovered early. That’s pretty much what happened on September 5, 1991, when a 37-foot-long tapeworm was removed from the unfortunate gut of one Sally Mae Wallace. The worm was removed via her mouth, while she was awake, in what witnesses describe as the most disgusting magic act in history.

Top 5 data cards

Today many companies offer data cards with various features.

Gone are the days when data cards were only meant for accessing the internet. Today they offer many other features like storage slot and WiFi routing. Also, unlike earlier when only operators used to offer data cards, today many companies are offering such products at different price points and with many more features. We have chosen five devices on the basis of their features and price. However we cannot swear by their quality or performance.

Huawei E5331

It is currently available for around Rs 3,600. The device comes with 21.6 Mbps download and 5.76 Mbps upload speeds. It also acts as a WiFi router and allows eight connections.

There is a 1500 mAh battery in the E5331 that claims to provide 5 hours of continuous usage, 30 hours of WiFi, or 250 hours of WiFi standby. There are several indicators in the data card that show network connectivity, WiFi status, battery level and SMS. The device has a power button as well. Besides, it has a 32 GB micro SD card slot and you can charge it with its USB 2.0 port.

Huawei E355

For those who do not want to spend Rs 3,600 on the E5331, Huawei has a cheaper alternative -the E355.

Huawei E355 too comes with 21.6 Mbps download and 5.76 Mbps upload speeds. It too acts as a WiFi router but allows five connections against eight connections of E5331.

Also, it does not have a battery of its own; so you have to plug this dongle to your laptop or tablet to make it work. However, like the E5331, the Huawei E355 comes with a 32 GB micro SD card slot.

ZTE AW3632

This is currently available in the market for around Rs 1,800. This 9.5 mm thick data card weighs 30 gram. It looks like an ordinary card but it can be used as a WiFi router. This 3G data card has download speeds of 14.4 Mbps. Plus there is a 32 GB micro SD card slot in the ZTE AW3632. It comes with USB 2.0, which allows it to connect to a laptop or computer, or to your tablet.

Huawei E3131

E3131 too is a WiFi data card and is available for around Rs 2,000. It has 21.6 Mbps download and 5.76 Mbps upload speeds. You can use it to create a WiFi hotspot in your surrounding to connect up to five devices to the internet.Any 2G/3G SIM can be used with this dongle. Moreover, it allows voice calling-all you need is a microphone and PC speaker. Plus, it has a 32 GB micro SD card slot.It is available for Rs 4,999 and allows users to connect to Airtel's 4G network in the said region. It has a 32 GB micro SD card slot and comes with a USB 2.0 connector using which you can connect it to a laptop.

New BlackBerry Z30

BlackBerry Z30, which is currently available for around Rs 40,000, is the flagship smartphone of the Canadian handset maker. The Z30 is the first phablet of BlackBerry, which is otherwise known for its physical Qwerty keypad based devices. The Z30 is thus BlackBerry's first experiment with the phablet segment which seems to rule the roost in the mobile phone market.
So has BlackBerry Z30 the essential traits to become a champion of the phablet segment? Is it worth buying for Rs 40,000? Does it possess serious challenges to flagship phones of other companies like iPhone 5s, HTC One, LG Optimus G2, or Samsung Galaxy S4?

With all these questions in mind, we started the review of the BlackBerry Z30 a fortnight ago and here is what we have discovered during the process.

Design

BlackBerry Z30 is a well-crafted handset which enthuse confidence of its durability. It though isn't jazzy, the Z30 is made to appeal executives and those who want something sober.

First of all, the Z30 has a big 5 inch display, at the bottom of which there is a silver colour metallic panel which also covers the sides of the handset. This silver bar at the bottom breaks the monotony of the black display well. The back panel is made of very strong plastic and has dual colour tone as well that looks classy as well as stylish but most importantly, the rear panel fits well and gives an impression of a non-removable back panel. The back panel harbours the classic BlackBerry logo which further adds to its looks. The camera and the LED flash are located at the top left of the rear panel.
Strangely, though the back panel is removable, the battery is not. The 64 GB micro SD card slot and the SIM slot are accessible after you remove the rear panel. The front part do not have any keys - soft or physical. The volume rocker is at the right hand side. In between the volume rockers, there is a key that launches the BlackBerry personal assistant - something like Apple's Siri. The micro USB cur charger port and the mini-HDMI ports are in the left hand side. The power button and the 3.5 mm jack are at the top.

The phone is 9.3 mm thick and weighs 170 grams which sounds a bit on the heavier side but one has to forget the same as it has a big 2880 mAh battery. Due to its weight and compact design, The Z30 feels like a brick in the hand. The rubberised finished rear panel gives excellent grip. Moreover, the rear panel is scratch resistant as well. All in all, the BlackBerry Z30 though is on the heavier side, thanks to its overall construction as stated above, is relatively easy to use than many other its competitors.

Display

The BlackBerry Z30 has a 5 inch display. The Super Amoled display comes with high definition resolution (1280x720 pixels) which translates to 295 ppi pixel density. The display has decent brightness and good colour output. The display of Z30 is to some extent smudge resistant but is not scratch resistant. However, many a times it failed to respond to our touch commands which probably due to the lack of power from processor point of view.
User interface

As I said earlier, the BlackBerry Z30 has no physical button or touch button as you will find in an Android handset. Thus all the commands are based on display itself. The BlackBerry Z30 comes with BlackBerry 10.2 operating system. Since, there is no physical or touch based back button, it requires gestures to exit from any task - just swipe from bottom to up and you will reach the home screen. If you swipe from towards the right you will see the app icons while swiping towards the right will bring the recently opened tasks and the BlackBerry Hub - which is nothing but a compilation of notifications and messages (text, Facebook, Twitter, BBM etc) and mails (Gmail, Yahoomail..etc). Swiping from top to bottom brings the setting tab.
Though the user interface sounds aristocratic, it is not exactly user friendly. For instance, though you can see Bluetooth, WiFi, Alarm shortcuts in the notification bar, to change their status you have to go to the settings page (in Android, it is a matter of just one click). Also, the swiping gestures though sounds upper class, needs some practice initially. Moreover, the swiping gesture does not respond well while playing games; you need to do the gesture by the rules books to get the result. Also, the swiping gesture also creates problems while playing games (for instance while playing Stick tennis I had to swipe in different directions which sometime resulted in closing of the game). Once mastered though, you will like the gesture controls more than the control system in Android.
A notable and the best aspect of BlackBerry Z30 is its on-screen keypad. Never for a moment it let me felt that I am using a touch screen based keypad. The keypad is made in such a way that it learns from your typing, so the more you type the more it learns about you and helps you typing faster. But above all, it is perhaps the best touchscreen keypad to have featured in a mobile phone.

Storage

BlackBerry Z30 has huge 16 GB internal memory and there is an expandable storage slot as well which can accommodate a micro SD card of up to 64 GB.

Camera

The Z30 comes with an 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera. The camera comes armed with BSI sensor for low-light photography. It has a 5 element f2.2 lens and 5x digital zoom facilityThe camera app is pretty simple - at the top there is icons for still picture, video and one for face detection mode.
The rear camera does a decent job in capturing colours and details, without overdoing. As far as macro photography is concerned, the Z30 can also capture details well from a point of about 10 cm. It also does a good job when it comes to low light photography. Below are some pictures that will give you a decent idea about its capability; note that we have captured in the default mode. I was especially impressed with its face detection mode which allows you to choose the final picture. The camera app is pretty fast as well.
BlackBerry Z30 has also a good 2 megapixel fixed focus front camera. For the front camera also, there is image and video stabilization features. Plus, there is 3x digital zoom for the front camera and it said to be able to capture HD videos but in a nutshell, the front camera is a good one but not something extraordinary - same can be said about the front camera as well.

Processing capability & other performance
The BlackBerry Z30 comes with the 1.7 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro MSM8960T processor. It is assisted by Adreno 320 graphics processing unit and 2 GB RAM. The phone has BlackBerry 10.2 operating system versionAt a time of octa core processors, this dual core processor certainly looks mediocre but it does the job quite well with the help of the huge 2 GB RAM. The phone managed to run heavy games like Real Racing 3 with ease. Even I managed to play 4 games at a time. However, on several occasions it showed some lag, and especially when I switched on its Magnify Mode (which allows pinch to zoom action anywhere in the screen no matter which app you have opened)
